I love just about everything about this hat. I just have two things that make it less than perfect and they both have to do with the strap. When you remove it and put it in the storage pocket, it makes the headband rub a little bit in an uncomfortable way. And when you have the strap clipped into the back, it makes a fair amount of clicking noise as you walk. Otherwise, I've really been enjoying this hat.
I live outside of Tucson where the sun will melt you in the summer. A sun hat is a must. Other hats had the flop in the wind which is super annoying. Problem solved with Shelta. Buy one and be done looking for a sun hat!!

As a Swamp Tour Captain, I demand performance. I've been wearing the Condor Sheltas and I find the Firebird V2 to be lighter and cooler !!! Sun protection is excellent (big brim) and the 5 panel cap is light and feels cooler than my old hats. Not quite sure what to put into the forehead pocket...?? But it's there if I need it !! The lighter-colored under brim is also less distracting !! Shelta's cost more....and work Better !! Enjoy & Cheers, Captain Caviar
The brim is like a baseball hat only extra protection from sun. I’ve had boony hats before but this is on a whole new level. If you spend a lot of time outside and usually wear baseball caps, you are going to love this hat. I if’ed and awed about the price too……. Once you get it you won’t regret it. 5 stars all the way.
